Marathon Equipment Awarded New Sourcewell Contract

Marathon awarded sourcewell for compactors and balers

Marathon Equipment has been awarded a new Sourcewell contract effective January 8, 2025. Sourcewell is a national cooperative purchasing organization that helps public agencies and qualified non-profits buy equipment through contracts that have already been publicly and competitively solicited. This award confirms that Marathon successfully met the detailed requirements of Sourcewell’s review process, including technical qualification, pricing evaluation, and industry capability.

Under contract number 010825-MEC, Sourcewell members now have direct access to Marathon’s full line of compactors, balers, and recycling equipment through a proven and compliant purchasing path. Agencies can use the contract to accelerate their procurement timeline, maintain transparency, and receive pricing that reflects Sourcewell’s preset competitive structure. The process avoids the need for each agency to create its own specifications, issue an RFP, or evaluate multiple competitive bids, which saves considerable time and administrative effort.

The contract is open to government agencies, K-12 and higher education institutions, and non-profit organizations that qualify for Sourcewell membership. Membership is free, and once an entity is enrolled, it can select a Marathon dealer, identify the equipment needed, and issue a purchase order under the established contract terms. For Canadian municipalities and public sector agencies, Marathon’s eligibility also extends through the Canoe Procurement Group of Canada, which recognizes this Sourcewell award and provides access for qualifying Canadian customers.

This contract provides a reliable path for public agencies that need high-performing waste and recycling equipment with predictable pricing and a simplified procurement process. Click here for more information on purchasing Marathon compactors, balers, or recycling equipment through Sourcewell.
